The main objectives of the National Service Scheme include:
A. Personality Development
To develop leadership qualities, discipline, confidence, and responsibility among students through practical social service.
B. Social Awareness
To make students aware of the problems faced by communities—such as poverty, illiteracy, environmental issues, health challenges, and social inequalities.
C. Community Engagement
To encourage students to work directly with communities, especially in rural and backward areas, to understand their needs and contribute to development.
D. Promote National Integration
To foster unity, respect for diversity, and a sense of national pride among students.
E. Develop Civic Responsibility
To inspire a sense of duty towards society, public welfare, cleanliness, conservation, and social justice.
F. Encourage Volunteerism
To motivate youth to participate actively in public service activities like blood donation, disaster relief, cleanliness drives, literacy programs, and awareness campaigns.
G. Build Social Harmony
To promote values like cooperation, teamwork, empathy, tolerance, and respect for all.
